Shegaon Sansthan Enquiry Booths: How Warkari Dindis Get Help During Festivals

28 October 2026 3 min read Rudransh Mali

Quick Answer: If anything feels unclear when your dindi reaches Shegaon, walk up to an enquiry booth — two experienced volunteers are there to help during Shri Pragat Din, Shri Ram Navami and Shri Punyatithi. Go to the registration office first, then use any booth on the grounds. Plan your route with the Sansthan location page.

The journey is over. Your dindi has walked into Shri Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan in Shegaon, Dist. Buldhana, Maharashtra — bhajan echoing in every direction, thousands of devotees moving around you — and for a moment you simply don't know where to start. Every dindi feels that. The Sansthan planned for it, which is why enquiry booths exist: so you never have to figure things out alone. Here is what to expect, alongside the Sansthan's wider facilities for pilgrims.

Which festivals bring the largest dindi arrivals?

Three utsav bring Warkari dindis to Shegaon in the biggest numbers — Shri Pragat Din, Shri Ram Navami and Shri Punyatithi (Rishi Panchami). The Sansthan prepares for each one well in advance.

  • Shri Pragat Din — dindis arrive in large numbers. If someone in your group needs a room, read about Bhakt Niwas booking during Prakat Din.
  • Shri Ram Navami and Shri Punyatithi — the same registration, pendol and mahaprasad arrangements apply.
  • Dates — all three follow the Hindu calendar, so the Sansthan office confirms each year's date.

Confirm the utsav date with the Sansthan office before fixing travel plans, and check darshan queue timing for peak days.

What does the Shegaon Sansthan Enquiry Booth do?

Many Warkaris come from villages and may be seeing Shegaon for the first time. The enquiry booth is a volunteer help point made for exactly that devotee — somewhere to ask a question, solve a problem and get the right information without guessing.

  • Who you will meet — two experienced volunteers staff each booth.
  • Where to find one — the Sansthan has not published the exact number or gate locations. The booths are spread across the premises, so one is never far away.
  • When they work — booths operate during the peak festival influx.
  • Staying safe — official channels only — no agents, no third-party confirmations. Our guide explains verifying trusted local help in Shegaon.

Ask at a booth or the registration office, and walk away from anyone who asks for money to arrange anything.

How do dindis register and where do they stay?

Start at the dedicated registration office, where your dindi is received. From there, your group stays together in numbered pendols (tents), so nobody in the dindi gets separated.

  • Pendol locations — numbered pendols stand at Visava and Anand Vihar.
  • Inside the pendols — lighting and clothes-drying areas are provided, a real relief after the road. Waterproof pendols are used for the Punyatithi utsav.
  • Bhajani sahitya — the Sansthan gives eligible Bhajani dindis 10 pairs of tal, 1 mridanga, 1 veena and saint literature such as the Dnyaneshwari and Tukaram Gatha. Ask at the registration office whether your dindi is eligible.
  • Private rooms — family members travelling separately can check the rooms page. Private rooms need at least 3 family members and a valid government photo ID for every devotee. You can enquire on WhatsApp.

Note your pendol number the moment you arrive — a large camp is easy to get lost in.

What food, first aid and evening kirtan are available?

During these utsav, no devotee goes hungry. Mahaprasad is served free of charge, 24 hours a day, and first-aid cover runs around the clock at Visava and Anand Vihar.

  • Mahaprasad — up to 10 queues run at the same time during the utsav, with no charge at any hour. See also Shegaon local food and prasad.
  • Bathing — Visava and Anand Vihar have 1,000 bathing taps, so freshening up after the journey does not mean a long wait.
  • First aid — 24-hour centres have doctors and ambulances. Read about the first aid and medical facility at Shegaon Bhakt Niwas.
  • Kirtan — during the utsav, kirtans run nightly from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM inside the Mahaprasad tent, a peaceful way to close the day. Regular aarti timings at Shegaon are listed separately.

If anyone in your dindi feels unwell, take them to the first-aid centre early — don't wait.
